The Producers Insight~
Happiness. If you turn on the news today you don't see much of it. In the wake of natural disasters, terrorist attacks and government let-downs, Americans are striving for a light at the end of the tunnel; a glimmer of hope that will bring solace and peace back into their lives. We were given life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. But what is happiness and how is it achieved? With life in these times, it is hard not to focus on the negative. However, people by nature want to stay positive. People are hungry for improvement in all aspects of their lives, with the pursuit of happiness leading the way. 100 million "Cultural Creatives" are on a mission to improve their lives and the lives of others. They are ultimately on a quest for true happiness. Our film "The Serious Business of Happiness" embodies this very idea. This "docu-drama" brings us along on a journey in the search of absolute contentment. This film allows our audience to meet the internationally revered "Luminaries" whose ideas and insights serve to inspire, empower and enable more than 100 million Cultural Creatives in the U.S. and Europe. Our guide in the "The Serious Business of Happiness" is a young man looking towards the path of enlightenment for happiness, and takes us on a quest to meet the purveyors of wisdom known worldwide for changing millions of peoples lives. We hear insights to understanding pain and fear, love and relationships, success and failure, sex, reality and God.

Cultural Creatives and Happiness....
Cultural Creatives and Happiness as a commom denominator among millions of people.
We wanted to show the multitude of thought, ideas and beliefs that make up the lansdscape of the Cultural Creative Movement-but we also wanted to introduce some restraint or common denominator that invites comparison between the beliefs and values between these Cultural Creative superstars. Hence the idea of a docu-drama in the tradition of Siddharta or Alchemy: Young man looking for enlightenment and happiness seek out purveyors of wisdom to ask directions on the journey towards happiness and rapture-discovery underway that true fullfillment is to be found not in the goal but in the process itself.
This setting made sense because it sets the scene for an investigation of the process of self-empowerment and self-help which is a strong common denominator in the Cultural Creative universe. It allows the core issue of love, happiness, clarity and contentment in our lifes to be the common yardstick in which our multitude of cultural creative superstars can be compared. At the the same time this approach delivered on another need to the film--
It made it easy to work in a dramatic structure that makes sense - young man in need of enlightenment and the journey to find that enlightenment comes from within.
